Trump will be Trump
In response to all the Donald Trump supporters gloating over the election, I would like to remind them that Hillary Clinton won the popular vote by more than 2 million votes. Trump will be the presidengt because of a constitutional quirk called the Electoral College, not by the will of the people.
This same constitutional quirk put George W. Bush in office in 2000, and we know how that worked out – economic disaster and unnecessary wars.
Trump is already changing his promises on building a wall on the United States’ southern border, deporting 11 million undocumented immigrants, repealing Obamacare and withdrawing from NATO. I hope I’m wrong, but I don’t think we’ll see the coal mines and steel mills re-open, or a major tax reduction for the middle class. I’m afraid we’re going to experience four years of Trump being Trump. He’ll be a robber baron who will take care of the top 1 percent and alienate minorities, run roughshod over women’s rights, organized labor and people who are struggling.
Trump being Trump could very well see another constitutional quirk happening – that would be the one called impeachment.
