Carmichaels Civic Club selects girls of the month
Carmichaels Area Women’s Civic Club has selected Caitlyn Ricco, a senior at Carmichaels Area Junior/Senior High School, left, as the Girl of the Month for September, and Morgan Voithofer, a senior at Carmichaels Area Junior/Senior High School, as the Girl of the Month for October.
Ricco, daughter of Tom and Carrie Ricco, is vice president of student council, historian of the National Honor Society, drum major in the marching band, captain of the varsity cheerleading squad and a member of SADD, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Quarterbacks of Life, chorus and the senior high standing committee.
Ricco takes dance at For the Love of Dance and attends First United Methodist Church. After graduation, she plans on studying elementary education at California University of Pennsylvania.
Voithofer, daughter of Jason Voithofer and Heather Tokarcik, has a 4.0 grade-point average and is at the top of her class.
She is a 2014 Outstanding Scholar of the Year and a 2016 outstanding physics and Spanish student. She is a member of the National Honor Society, senior standing committee, SADD, yearbook staff, band, chorus, drama club, ladies ensemble chorus and county chorus, captain of the varsity cheerleading squad and student director of the middle school drama club.
Voithofer takes voice lessons, is a member of St. Hugh’s Catholic Church choir and is a student teacher at the Center for the Performing Arts Theatre Company. She was Miss Rain Day 2014 and is the 2016 Bituminous Coal Queen.
