Throckmorton United Methodist Church in Waynesburg will hold a free community dinner from 5 to 6:30 p.m. today. Dinner includes turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, green beans, sweet potatoes, gravy, drinks and dessert. Takeout will be available and donations will be accepted.
Boy Scout Alex Komacek with Troop 1560 of Rostraver is working on his Eagle Scout project. Komacek will hold a fundraiser today and Sunday at Hoss’s Steak & Seahouse in Belle Vernon. If you eat on either of those days, 20 percet of your bill will go toward financing his project, “Help Fill the Shelves” for Military Connections. Komacek will ship boxes of food and beverages to troops overseas. He is also accepting donations for the shipping of the boxes. Show the restaurant this announcement with the number 51382.
John Corbly Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will meet at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hot Rod’s House of BBQ in Waynesburg. Ann Harder, the Southwest District director, will visit the chapter during the meeting. Members are reminded to bring nonperishable food to donate to the local food bank.
Elizabeth-Forward Area Community Chorus will present “Starlight” at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 2-3, and 3 p.m. Dec. 4 at Elizabeth-Forward High School.
A Christmas craft and bake sale will be held from noon to 5 p.m. Dec. 3 and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 4 in the upstairs school hall of St. John Byzantine Catholic Church, 201 E. Main St., Uniontown, sponsored by St. John Ethnic Craft Club and St. John Social Ministry. There will be crafts, cookbooks, candy, baked goods, decorations, nativity display and raffles.
