Honor student latest victim of Pittsburgh street violence
PITTSBURGH (AP) — A 17-year-old high school honor roll student is the latest victim of gun violence on the streets of Pittsburgh.
Pittsburgh Public Schools officials say 17-year-old Rashawn Gibson was a standout senior at Pittsburgh Brashear High School and planned to attend college.
That ended about 4 p.m. Tuesday, when police say he was gunned down while standing on a friend’s porch. He died at the scene.
Police haven’t said if they have any suspects in the shooting or what they suspect the motive to be.
Counselors are available at the school Wednesday for staff and students.
