Police beat
Assault charge: Megan Martin, 21, of 235 Third Ave., Crucible, was charged by Cumberland Township police with simple assault and harassment for allegedly grabbing and pushing her grandmother, Linda Wolfe, about 8:15 p.m. Wednesday, after the two argued over a bag of tobacco that was inside their residence.
Burglary: Someone pried open the door of a toolshed on a well pad at 342 Earnest Hill Road in Springhill Township, which is owned by Rice Energy of Canonsburg. Police said the burglar stole aluminum padlocks from the shed between Tuesday morning and Wednesday morning.
