Police beat Dec. 28
Two escape: Chartiers Township police have been advised to be on the lookout for two escapees from the Keystone Transitional Center in Greenville, Mercer County. Keith Beatty, a biracial male described as 5 feet, 8 inches tall, 220 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes, and Ethan Hicks, who is white, 6 feet tall, 170 pounds, with brown hair and green eyes and a cross tattoo under his right eye, were last seen just after 11 p.m. Monday. According to a report, Beatty has family living in the 400 block of Hallam Avenue.
Change stolen: A resident of 43 Sycamore Street reported to state police that someone entered the home between Dec. 11 and Dec. 16 and stole a water jug filled with change.
Man assaulted: A 75-year-old man reported to Washington police that he was walking along McCarrell Avenue about 9:30 p.m. Sunday when two men pushed and kicked him in the face and ribs. He said the men, whom he has seen in the area before, stole $20 and a pack of cigarettes.
Shot fired: A Washington resident reported to police that he and a friend were walking near 168 Park Avenue about 2 a.m. Monday when a vehicle pulled up and someone fired a gun at them. The men, who were not injured, fled. The resident told police they had just left a bar on South Main Street after a man started fighting with them.
Assault charge: Jalene J. Nichols, 21, of 910 Fayette St., Washington, was placed in Washington County Jail Monday on a simple assault charge. According to Washington police, Nichols struck Aneya Gilber several times Sunday outside 174 Jollick Manor. Nichols was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller.
Woman struck: A Washington woman reported to police that she was sitting outside a gas station on Highland Avenue Monday evening when a woman she didn’t know got out of a white car and began hitting her. The woman fled with a man with dreadlocks.
