Police Beat Dec. 22
Church burglarized: State police are investigating a break-in late Sunday or early Monday at Liberty United Methodist Church, 1330 Banetown Road, Amwell. The burglar entered through a rear window and went through closets, drawers and a cupboard, police said, before leaving with two items. Anyone with information on the burglary is asked to call police at 724-223-5200.
Disorderly house: Niko Patrick Croom, 21, Jalen Lavon Kincaid, 20, and Daivoon Nathaniel Lewis, 21, all of Pittsburgh, and William Shomari Thomas, 21, of Monroeville, were charged by California police with violating the borough’s disorderly house ordinance after officers were called Dec. 4 to their apartment at 521 Vulcan Village for a report of a large fight. Police found a crowd of more than 100 people in and around the apartment. Police also noticed the floor was caving in because of the number of people in the apartment.
Threats, harassment arrest: Willie Francis Burket, 40, of Vanderbilt, Fayette County, was arrested Tuesday by state police on charges of terroristic threats and harassment after he allegedly called his mother at her Canton home and reportedly threatened to harm her as well as his cousin, who also was at the residence, police said. He was arraigned before District Judge Traci McDonald and placed in Washington County Jail on $25,000 bond.
Warrant issued: McDonald police said Cory Thomas Wauthier, 24, of 419 Walnut St., Midway, is wanted on a warrant for failing to turn himself in to Washington County Adult Probation. Police and his probation officer went to his home earlier this month. Police and the probation officer talked with him by telephone, and he indicated he was not turning himself in. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call McDonald police at 724-926-2105.
Car stolen: Emil Potts of Wellsburg, W.Va., told North Franklin police Sunday that a Washington woman took his two-door, 2007 Ford Focus without permission from Washington Crown Center. She dropped him off at the mall so he could get a new cellphone. When he came out, she and the car were gone. Charges are pending.
Shotgun stolen: Gene and Christopher Sunday told state police Dec. 11 that a 12-gauge shotgun and two cans of ammunition containing abuot 590 rounds were stolen from 20 Hickory Hill Road, South Franklin.
Theft arrest: Natasha N. McMasters, 28, of Bellaire, Ohio, was arrested Tuesday by South Strabane police on a felony charge of retail theft after she allegedly put clothing in her purse and then left Kohl’s, Strabane Square, without paying for the items. She was arraigned before District Judge Traci McDonald and released on $2,500 unsecured bond.
Window damaged: Cynthia Thomas of 193 Jollick Manor told Washington police that her 23-year-old cousin threw a metal chair against a window at her home, breaking it, after the two got into an argument. Police said charges are pending based on a damage estimate obtained by Washington County Housing Authority.
