Pa. ’16 slots revenue little changed from prior reported year
Slot machine revenue at the state’s 12 casinos was essentially flat in 2016, according to a report Thursday from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.
According to a release from the PGCB, total revenue for 2016 stood at $2,360,184,122, the sixth consecutive year in which revenue has topped $2.3 billion. However, the latest amount is 0.23 percent less than slot machine revenue in 2015, when gross revenue totaled $2,365,651,659.
According to PGCB’s figures, tax revenue generated from slot machine gaming in 2016 was $1,259,648,414, which it said was used for property tax reduction to Pennsylvania homeowners, strengthening the commonwealth’s horse racing industry and funding economic development projects.
For the year, The Meadows Casino saw its gross slots revenue rise 0.63 percent, from $220,233,130 in 2015 to $221,620,054 last year.

According to PGCB, the average combined number of slot machines operating daily was 26,074 in December 2016, compared to 26,229 in December 2015.
