James Clayton Connor

James Clayton Connor, 73, of Charleroi, formerly of Eighty Four, died Sunday, November 25, 2012, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.

He was born September 12, 1939, in Whiteley Township, Greene County, a son of the late Clarence and Fannebelle Lemunyion Connor.

Before retiring, he worked as a security guard for the George Washington hotel in Washington.

He was a member of Pigeon Creek Presbyterian Church in Eighty Four, where he was the church custodian for 16 years.

Mr. Connor enjoyed word search puzzles, watching the Pirates and Steelers and sitting on the porch.

Surviving are his wife, Linda Barr Connor, whom he married February 11, 1972, in Pigeon Creek Presbyterian Church; sister Sue Cunningham of Manassas, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are his siblings, Ruth Beddow, Martha Palmer, Mary Burdette and Clarence (Bill), Robert, Paul and Joseph Connor.

Friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville, 724-239-2255. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 29, in Pigeon Creek Presbyterian Church, 45 Church Road, Eighty Four, with Pastor Bill Lusk officiating. Interment will be in Pigeon Creek Presbyterian Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville.
