A Canonsburg man was arrested Thursday night by borough police after he allegedly assaulted his former girlfriend during a confrontation at her home.
Adam Andrew Snatchko Jr., 21, of 502 Giffin Ave., is accused of assaulting the 21-year-old woman inside her home at 29 E. Pitt St.

Allegheny County jurors found a suspended Pittsburgh postmaster from Canonsburg guilty Friday after almost two days of deliberations on obstructing law and some other charges stemming from allegations he threatened subordinates who saw him opening packages suspected of containing drugs.
Daniel Davis, 51, of Canonsburg, was also found guilty on three counts of intimidating witnesses and one each of criminal coercion and official oppression. The county district attorney’s office accused Davis of lying to a federal investigator and threatening the physical safety or careers of four separate postal employees between August 2014 and January 2015 to protect himself from consequences for opening packages when he didn’t have the authority to do so.

A West Virginia woman was arrested by state police Thursday night and charged with having a sexual relationship with an 11-year-old Greene County boy last year.
State police said Kaitlynn M. Wolfe, 20, of Morgantown, and the boy had sexual intercourse on 15 occasions between July and September at the boy’s Wayne Township home.
Police did not say how they were alerted to the situation, but that they interviewed the boy Wednesday and he told them of the relationship, which allegedly occurred in his bedroom.

The chief of Marianna Volunteer Fire Company said the fire that killed a West Bethlehem Township woman Thursday night likely had been burning for some time before the flames were spotted by a passing motorist.
Cynthia Ann Scott (Ostrich), 59, was pronounced dead about three hours after firefighters from several communities were called to her home at 1204 Barr Run Road just before 6 p.m. after the motorist saw the flames and notified a neighbor. Coroner Tim Warco said the cause and manner of her death are pending an autopsy.

Frank and Darryl Valencic, and their button accordions, will perform Tuesday night at the Sister Cities International Inaugural Ball in the nation’s capital. They were invited by the Embassy of Slovenia, where the first lady in waiting was born 46 years ago.
It is a black-tie event – $250 per ticket – that will unfold at the Organization of American States building and draw diplomats, members of Congress and municipal leaders.
