Steel mats stolen: State police said 30 steel mats were reported stolen from the MG Finance Co. construction site, 1000 Montgomery Road, Amwell, between Dec. 20 and Monday. Twenty of the plates were 8-foot-by-20-foot and 10 were 8-foot-by-40-foot.

Five charged: North Strabane police charged five people Thursday in connection with a Jan. 7 incident at Frankie I’s, 1180 Mapleview Drive. Nicholas S. Whipkey, 26, of 255 Birch St., Claysville, was charged with criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and harassment. Jared M. Packey, 26, of 210 Pike St., Meadowlands, and Kenneth D. Grayson Jr., 47, of 20 Dorsey St., Bridgeville, were charged with harassment and disorderly conduct. James Wesley Jones, 34, of 139 Hallam Ave., Meadowlands, and Christian Lee Whipkey, 22, of 675 Vista Valley Road, Washington, were charged with disorderly conduct. Police were called to the bar for a fight that reportedly involved about a dozen people. When they arrived, officers saw a broken pane of glass on an interior door. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

False identification: Rarji Neal, 24, of Duquesne, was charged this week by North Strabane police with false identification to police and traffic violations stemming from a Jan. 11 traffic stop at Washington and Fulton roads. He allegedly gave police a false name and birth date several times. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

Charged in crash: Latoya Smith, 30, of 1673 Streator Ave., South Strabane, was charged Tuesday by South Strabane police with leaving the scene of a crash, unauthorized use of a vehicle, failure to render aid, reckless driving, abandoning a vehicle and several traffic violations stemming from a Dec. 27 crash on Route 19 at Trinity Point Drive. Police said after the crash, she abandoned the pickup truck in a nearby parking lot. When the owner of the truck was contacted, he told police she did not have permission to drive the vehicle.

Woman assaulted: Kimberly Colbert, 31, of Washington, told Washington police Thursday she was assaulted by a 40-year-old Washington man in the 500 block of Jefferson Avenue. She said he struck her in the jaw and face. Charges are pending.
