Sheriff’s office to open one evening each month to issue gun permits
The Greene County Sheriff’s Office will continue to hold evening hours one day a month to allow people who can’t come to the courthouse during normal business hours to come in to apply for concealed weapons permits.
On the third Thursday of each month the office will remain open until 6 p.m. for people to apply for gun permits. Because of courthouse security, all applicants coming late for concealed weapons permits must use the Church Street entrance to the courthouse.
Greene County Sheriff Brian Tennant said the office began holding extended hours last year to make the process more accessible to people who worked during the day.
Applications for gun permits also are available on the sheriff’s department’s website and can be printed and completed in advance. The webpage can be found on the Greene County webpage at www.co.greene.pa.us. Applications are also available in the office.
