Washington County Department of Parks and Recreation is accepting live Christmas trees for recycling during park hours through Jan. 27 at Mingo Creek and Cross Creek county parks. The Cross Creek drop-off point is the boat trailer parking lot, and the Mingo Creek drop-off point is the Shelter 1 parking lot. Recycled trees will be used to improve fish habitat at Cross Creek County Park. Trees must be free of ornaments and tinsel. For more information, call 724-228-6811.

Peters Township residents have two options for disposing live Christmas trees. Trees can be dropped off to be recycled at the baseball fields parking area, behind the outfield of Field 2, in Peterswood Park until Jan. 20. There are yellow signs directing where to drop off trees. Trees will be converted to pine mulch. Trees also can be placed outside for curbside garbage collection on a normal collection day. All decorations must be removed from the tree prior to disposal.

First Christian Church, 615 E. Beau St., Washington, will hold an all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday6. Dinner will include spaghetti with homemade meat sauce, salad, Italian bread, drink and homemade dessert. Cost is $10 for adults, $4 for children 5 to 12 and children 4 and younger are free. Fresh Fire Church in Brier Hill will hold its first 2017 “Produce to People” at 10 a.m. Jan. 12 in the Fiddlers Building at the Fayette County Fairgrounds, 134 Pechin Road, Dunbar. Volunteers are needed at 8:30 a.m.
