Steelers not alarmed by hotel fiasco
BOSTON, Mass – The Steelers got an early wake-up call Sunday morning at their hotel in Boston prior to an AFC Championship meeting with the New England Patriots.
A fire alarm was pulled at 3:05 a.m. Sunday morning at the Boston Logan International Hilton causing some portions of the hotel to be evacuated. The Steelers were not among those who were forced to exit the building.
Police detained an East Boston man, 25-year-old Dennis Harrison, in connection to pulling the alarm. He has been charged with disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace and pulling a false alarm.
Fans pulling fire alarms in an attempt to disrupt a team’s sleep happens from time to time in sports. The AFC Championship Game was not scheduled to be played until 6:40 p.m.
Former Steelers offensive lineman Alan Faneca Tweeted, “Never played a game in NE where that did not happen. Every single time.”
According to ESPN, Harrison pulled the alarm and ran to an awaiting getaway car.
Later in the morning, alarms went off at Gillette Stadium causing it to be evacuated. The Steelers had not yet arrived at the stadium.
