Greene County clay target program to hold registration
Hunting Hills Hawkeyes, Greene County’s Scholastic Clay Target Program team, will hold registration Sunday in Building No. 9 at Greene County Fairgrounds.
The sign-ups for 2016 returning participants will be from 1 to 2 p.m. The registration fee is $60, or $30 for students who have already renewed their National Sporting Clays Association membership. A copy of the NSCA card must be provided the day of sign-ups.
New students in third through ninth grades interested in clay target shooting as a team sport can register from 2 to 3 p.m. A safety and training session for new team members is mandatory and will begin at 3 p.m. following sign-up. A $60 registration fee applies for all new students. Additional fees may apply during the practice season.
New students will be accepted only in category levels of rookie, for grades 3, 4 and 5, intermediate entry, for grades 6, 7 and 8, and senior/junior varsity for grade 9.
Practice session dates will provided at sign-ups along with information on a fundraiser scheduled for May 7. All students are required to bring a 12- or 20-gauge shotgun, semi-automatic or over-and-under, and shells for each practice session.
