Jan. slots revenue falls 2.4 percent
HARRISBURG — Slot machine revenue from Pennsylvania’s casinos fell 2.4 percent in January, according to the latest report from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.
The PGCB said Friday that January gross revenue from slot machines at the 12 casinos was $180,304,670, a 2.4 percent decrease in revenue when compared to the $184,811,874 generated in January 2016. Tax revenue in January was $95,847,419.
Gross slots revenue at The Meadows Casino in North Strabane Township declined 5.73 percent, moving from $17,454,006 in January 2016 to $16,454,216 last month.
At Pittsburgh’s Rivers Casino, slots revenue edged up 0.50 percent in January, while Lady Luck Casino Neamacolin in Farmington saw a 6.86 percent rise.
The average number of slot machines operating on a daily basis was 26,254 during January compared to 26,229 at the casinos in January 2016.
