Grassmyer – Dunkle

Laura Dunkle and Danny Grassmyer were united in marriage September 24, 2016, at First Presbyterian Church, Tyrone, with the Rev. Mark Liller officiating the 3:30 p.m. ceremony.

The bride’s parents are John and Doris Dunkle of Duncansville, formerly of Avella. Her grandparents are Margaret Parsons of Washington, the late Leslie Carlisle and the late Donald and Cora Dunkle.

Parents of the bridegroom are Sharon Grassmyer of Tyrone and the late Danny Grassmyer.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents.

Maid of honor was Melanie Benson of Bel Air, Md.

Bridesmaids were Lori Sossong and Kristen Dunkle, sister-in-law of the bride, both of State College.

Flower girls were Isabella and Peyton Myers, cousins of the groom.

Best man was Giancarlo Mendola of Marienville.

Groomsmen were Christopher Sweet of Altoona and Donald Dunkle of State College, brother of the bride.

Ushers were Quintan and Tristan Grassmyer of State College, sons of the groom.

Ring bearer was Cameron Shaw, cousin of the bride.

Reader was Brad Carlisle, cousin of the bride, and organist was Walter Yatta.

The bride is a 2006 graduate of Central High School, Martinsburg, and a 2011 graduate of Seton Hill University with a bachelor of science and a master of ccience in physician assistant science. She is a physician’s assistant at Blair Medical Associates in Altoona.

Mr. Grassmyer is a 1997 graduate of Tyrone High School, Tyrone, and attended Penn State University, Altoona campus. He is a lieutenant with the state Department of Corrections at SCI-Benner Township, Bellefonte.

A reception was held at The Casino at Lakemont Park, Altoona.

The couple honeymooned in Ocho Rios, Jamaica.
