Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania will begin a $1.69 million infrastructure replacement project soon in Bethel Park and Peters Township.

About 9,950 feet of underground natural gas pipe will be replaced, affecting customers along Clifton Road, Irishtown Road, Maple Spring Road, Braun Road and Irishtown Road Extension. Work is expected to last through late 2017, weather permitting, and will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday on Clifton, Irishtown and Braun roads and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on all other affected roads.

Approximately 97 customers will experience a temporary service interruption. Columbia Gas will personally contact these customers to schedule service restoration. Customers with indoor meters will have their meters relocated to the outside of the premises and their service lines replaced as well.

All company and contract employees carry photo ID badges identifying them as Columbia Gas employees or contractors. Customers are encouraged to ask for ID before allowing anyone into their home or call 1-888-460-4332 for Columbia Gas employee verification.
