‘Cooking for Crowds’ workshop planned

Penn State Extension will hold a “Cooking for Crowds” workshop from 9 a.m. to noon Feb. 18 at 102 W. Church Ave., Masontown.

Safe food handling techniques and guidelines are part of the program, which is geared toward churches, fire companies, schools and civic groups.

Fee is $50 per organization for up to four participants and $5 for each additional person from the same group. The individual rate is $25. Certificates of completion will be issued by Penn State Extension and the state Department of Agriculture. All participants will receive a food safety manual, posters and a food thermometer.

To register, call the extension office at 724-837-1402. Registration deadline is Feb. 15.
