Scott – 100 years
Wilbert J. Scott, formerly of Canonsburg, celebrated his 100th birthday January 13 and 14 in Long Beach, Calif., where he resides with his daughter, Jean Scott-Webb.
Mr. Scott was born January, 14, 1917.
His wife, Ilda M. Scott, is deceased. Seven members of his wife’s family from Pennsylvania and one family member from New York traveled to California for a house party attended by 16 people.
On January 14, his family hosted a Club House Party with 55 guests. The party was catered by the Olive Garden, with music by a mariachi group.
“The only way to get better than this is to have my wife, Ilda, and my son-in-law, Carl, here to celebrate with us,” Mr. Scott said.
“I am overwhelmed by all the attention. My only living in-law, Earl Miller, Ilda’s baby brother, is here so we can celebrate the oldest – me – and the youngest – Earl, 82 – on my birthday.”
