Six weeks after their previous contract expired, members of the union representing Washington County Children and Youth Services employees expect to see the county commissioners approve a new, three-year pact Thursday morning.
Approximately 50 social and clerical workers who are members of Pennsylvania Social Service Union/Service Employees International Union Local 668 voted in favor of a new contract Feb. 8, said Kathleen Bali, county director of human resources.
The contract, retroactive to Jan. 1, includes 2 ½ percent wage increases in the first and second years and a 3 percent raise in the final year.
Employee contributions to health insurance coverage will be 10 percent in the first year, 11 ½ percent in the second year and 12 ½ percent in the final year.
The county continues to bargain with SEIU Local 668 and SEIU Healthcare, whose contracts also expired Dec. 31. Members of those unions continue to work under the terms of their old contracts.
