Rohanna announces bid for re-election

Greene County Coroner Gregory P. Rohanna announced he will seek re-election for the office during the May 16 primary.

Rohanna, a Democrat, lives in Jefferson with his wife, Mary. The couple has three children, Katie, Ryan and Matt.

He has served as coroner of Greene County since 1994, and prior to that he served as chief deputy coroner for 14 years.

“I appreciate the confidence the citizens of Greene County have had in me,” Rohanna said. “It has been a great opportunity and I ask the citizens of Greene County for their continued support to serve them as coroner again.”

Rohanna grew up in Waynesburg and attended West Virginia University and Waynesburg University before going to the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. He is also a graduate of the Pennsylvania State Coroner’s Certification Course and has maintained the statutory requirement of his continuing educational credits each year.

He is also a licensed funeral director and supervisor of Behm Funeral Homes, Inc. in Jefferson. He is a member of the Pennsylvania State Coroner’s Association where he currently serves as the association’s secretary/treasurer. He has served as an officer and president of both the Southwestern Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association and the Pennsylvania State Funeral Directors Association.

He has served as a member of the National Funeral Directors Association National Policy Board representing Pennsylvania. Rohanna is also a member of Hewitt Presbyterian Church, American Legion Post 954 of Jefferson, United Way of Greene County and Clarksville Area Lions Club.
