A Washington restaurant was briefly evacuated Saturday afternoon after a meat smoker in the kitchen overheated and fill the restaurant with smoke, the owner said.

City firefighters used fans about 2:30 p.m. to remove the smoke from Hog Father’s Old Fashioned BBQ, 1301 Jefferson Ave., and business there resumed as usual, owner Frank Puskarich said.

No one was injured and the building did not sustain any damages, he said.
