DUI, endangerment charges: Christopher Carroll, 46, of 809 Young Ave., Monongahela, was charged this week by Canonsburg police with endangering the welfare of children and his third offense of driving under the influence of alcohol stemming from a Feb. 10 traffic stop on Craighead Street for not having his vehicle inspected. Police said his blood-alcohol content was more than double the 0.08 percent limit at which intoxication is presumed, and his 13-year-old daughter was in the vehicle with him. Police said he has had two DUI convictions in the last five years. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.

Theft charge: Joshua M. Cole, 37, of 209 Graham St., Belle Vernon, was charged this week by Canonsburg police with retail theft and diversion of services for allegedly issuing himself cash refunds or refunds on his credit card while working at Advance Auto, 315 Adams Ave., in December and January. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.

Drug charges: Dexter Daniel Devitis, 38, of 601 Julia Drive, was charged this week by Canonsburg police with possession of heroin and paraphernalia after police were called to his home last November when they said he apparently overdosed on the drug. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.

Charged in theft: Nicholas Ferguson, 27, of 60 Carl Ave., Eighty Four, was charged this week by Canonsburg police with access device fraud and theft for allegedly stealing a former co-worker’s Skylight Pay Card last March and using it to withdraw $800 from the teen’s account. Both worked at a fast-food restaurant on Cavasina Drive. Ferguson reportedly had agreed to pay back the money, but the teen’s mother recently contacted police, saying Ferguson had repaid only $23. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.

Assault arrest: Brent N. Anderson, 56, of 2920 Taft St., North Franklin Township, was charged this week by state police with simple assault, criminal mischief, harassment and disorderly conduct. Anderson is accused of sucker-punching an acquaintance while the alleged victim was working at Interstate Foodland, 1920 W. Chestnut St., Canton, on Feb. 3. The victim’s dentures were broken in the assault and will cost $4,000 to replace, police said. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.

Assault arrest: Dominick C. Walsh, 21, of 454 Ridgewood Drive, Fredericktown, was arrested Thursday by state police after he allegedly punched a woman in the eye as they drove through Centerville on Sunday. He was arraigned before District Judge Ethan Ward on charges of simple assault and harassment. He was placed in Washington County Jail on $35,000 bond.

Card used: An employee of ARC Human Services, Country Club Road, told Chartiers police Thursday that a company credit card was used without permission.

Charged twice: Justin Paul Piatt, 29, of 15 North Ave., East Washington, faces two sets of charges filed against him by borough police. He is charged with burglary, theft, receiving stolen property and criminal trespass for allegedly breaking into a home on North Wade Avenue and stealing a Gold Eagle coin reportedly valued at $8,000, a safe and jewelry last July. Police indicated he sold the coin for $4,000 at a pawn shop. He also is charged with theft, receiving stolen property and criminal trespass for allegedly stealing a cellphone from a porch on North Avenue on Feb. 11. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

Screws thrown: Jonathan Cable of 453 Fannie St. told McDonald police Thursday that drywall screws were thrown in his driveway in what he believed was an attempt to damage the tires on his vehicle.

Harassment, threat charges: Phillip Work, 20, of 132 Bellvue Ave., North Franklin was arrested early Friday by township police after he allegedly grabbed an object and threatened a neighbor because he reportedly was upset that another man was abusing a cat. He was arraigned before District Judge Ethan Ward on charges of harassment and terroristic threats and placed in Washington County Jail on $5,000 bond.

Theft charges: Jillian Denee Brown, 32, of 461 Motheral Ave., Monessen, was charged Friday by Rostraver police with three counts each of retail theft, theft by deception and criminal trespass for allegedly going to Walmart on two occasions last month, stealing merchandise and then returning the items for gift cards. The charges were filed at the office of District Judge Joseph Dalfonso.

Woman charged: Natasha Shawnte Dotson, 39, of Milwaukee, Wis., was charged Friday by Rostraver police with retail theft and theft by deception in connection with a Dec. 7 incident at Kmart, 780 Rostraver Road. The charges were filed at the office of District Judge Charles Christner.

Two charged: Jacob William Ackerman, 29, of 228 Suzanna Drive, Belle Vernon, and Steven Christopher Greenawalt, 42, of Smithton, were charged Friday by Rostraver police with providing false information on firearms applications while attempting to purchase guns at Gun Rack, 1189 Route 136, on different occasions in October. The charges were filed at the office of District Judge Charles Christner.

Retail theft charge: Jack R. Jaffre, 40, of 229 Wilson Road, Charleroi, was charged this week by South Strabane police with retail theft for allegedly stealing items valued at $175.71 from Lowe’s, Strabane Square, on Dec. 13. Police said he dropped the items when he allegedly knocked down a store security officer as he fled the store. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

Felony theft charge: Donna J. Farabella, 55, of 14 Acheson Ave., Washington, was charged this week by South Strabane police with felony retail theft and theft by deception. She is accused of stealing items on two occasions this month from Walmart, Trinity Point, and returning those items in exchange for gift cards. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

Charged in crash: Margaret Humbert, 47, of 220 Hutchinson Ave., Canonsburg, was charged this week by South Strabane police with driving under the influence of alcohol, leaving the scene of a crash, following too closely and careless driving. She is accused of hitting a vehicle stopped for a red light on northbound Route 19 at Helen Drive on Feb. 4 and fleeing. Police said she refused to submit to a blood-alcohol test. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

Two charged: Ashley Pierson, 27, of 313 Second St., Vestaburg, and John Craig, 38, of 265 Jefferson Ave., Marianna, were charged by South Strabane police with theft by deception and conspiracy for allegedly stealing items from Kohl’s, Strabane Square, on Dec. 2 and returning them for gift cards. Craig also is charged with retail theft. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

Window broken: A window was reported broken Thursday at a house at 375 Allison Ave., Washington police said.

Purse stolen: Debra Nicolella of East Washington told Washington police Thursday that her purse containing about $50 and credit cards was stolen from her office while she was working at Church of the Covenant, 367 E. Beau St.

Guns, money stolen: Ellen Curran of South Strabane Township told Washington police Thursday that three guns, a television and $50 were stolen from her mother’s home on Victoria Street. The guns and television were sold at a Washington pawn shop, police said.
