Play K program at Brownsville library
Registration is underway for a Play K program that starts March 6 at Brownsville Free Public Library, 100 Seneca St., for 3- to 5-year-olds with a parent or caregiver.
The six-week program will be held from 11 a.m. to noon Mondays. Registration is required. Space is limited to 10 children per session.
The Play K curriculum allows children to “play kindergarten.” Each session will include a reading time and circle time, focusing on state kindergarten readiness skills and activities, such as using scissors, a calendar and taking turns. Each session will feature a different theme.
The Office of Commonwealth Libraries, as part of its Cruise Into Kindergarten initiative, has provided a grant for the program.
