The state Department of Transportation will hold a public meeting from 3 to 4 p.m. Feb. 23 at South Strabane Township Municipal Building, 550 Washington Road, Washington, to provide information on the replacement of Zediker Station Road bridge.

The bridge carries Zediker Station over a branch of Little Chartiers Creek and is being replaced as part of PennDOT’s Rapid Bridge Replacement Project.

Representatives from Plenary Walsh Keystone Partners will be available to discuss the bridge project and answer questions. There will be no formal presentation. Construction plans will be on display for reference.

A letter announcing the start of construction will be mailed out two weeks in advance to all project stakeholders. The bridge is one of 558 being replaced under the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project, a public-private partnership between PennDOT and Plenary Walsh Keystone Partners, under which PWKP will finance, design, replace and maintain the bridges for 25 years. The approach allows PennDOT to replace the bridges more quickly, while achieving significant savings and minimizing impact on motorists.
