Washington County History & Landmarks Foundation is sponsoring a luncheon-program at the historic Malden Inn (now Paci’s) on old National Road near Centerville. The event will begin at 1 p.m. April 9, and include a tour of the original National Road through Centerville and Beallsville before a walking tour of Scenery Hill. An Easter egg hunt will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Trinity United Methodist Church, McMurray, for children through sixth grade. Bring a basket. To RSVP, call 724-941-4470.

West Newton Library, 124 N. Water St., is accepting donations of used jewelry, rings, necklaces, bracelets, watches, earrings and pins. The library also holds a small book sale inside Gary’s Lunch, 109 S. Second St. For more information, call 724-972-3229.

Individuals, families and organized groups are invited to participate in the “Keep PA Beautiful – Great PA Clean Up” from 10 a.m. to noon April 8 at Mingo Creek County Park or Cross Creek County Park. Trash bags and gloves will be provided by the Washington County Department of Parks and Recreation and a grilled hot dog and bottle of water will be provided after the cleanup. Groups will meet at Shelter 4 in Mingo and Shelter 3 on the Route 50 side of Cross Creek. Dress appropriately for the weather and light hiking. Reservations are requested and can be made by calling the Washington County Department of Parks and Recreation at 724-228-6867.

Ryerson Station State Park is holding its annual cleanup day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 8 and volunteers are needed. Volunteers will be directed to areas that need the most work. Maps, gloves and bags will be distributed to volunteers. Staff will be on hand to help and to load the bags into pickup trucks. Those interested in helping can stop by the park office and complete a DCNR Volunteer Application for an individual or group, if not already a volunteer at Ryerson Station State Park. Charleroi Lodge 615 Free and Accepted Masons will meet at 7:30 p.m. April 13 in Masonic Hall, 7th and McCain in Charleroi. All members are encouraged to attend. For more information, call 724-984-6611.
