Electronic recycling collection set for Wednesday in Greene Co.
An electronic recycling collection will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Wednesday at Greene County Fairgrounds. The event is sponsored by Greene County commissioners and state Rep. Pam Snyder, D-Jefferson.
Items that will be accepted free include computers, laptop computers, monitors, printers, components, video cassette recorders, cameras, telephones, electronic cables, games, audio, video and testing equipment and calculators.
There will be a $1 charge for each fluorescent bulb and a $15 charge for each item with Freon.
Televisions will be accepted for free though residents are asked to limit disposal of televisions to one per car for each collection event. Disassembled cathode ray televisions will not be accepted.
Other items that will not be accepted include sweepers, hair dryers, small kitchen appliances, speakers, regular light bulbs, alkaline batteries, smoke detector, manuals, Styrofoam and VCR tapes, software and compact discs.
Other recycling events will be held June 14, Aug. 30 and Oct. 18.
