Erie man charged with robbery
An Erie man was arrested by California police after he allegedly used a stolen student access card to enter Vulcan Village Wednesday and assault his girlfriend.
Rashead Pacley, 22, was arraigned Friday before District Judge Joshua Kanalis on charges of robbery, criminal trespass, illegal use of a credit card, simple assault and harassment.
The girlfriend called police Wednesday afternoon to report Pacley struck her in the head several times as he tried to get her keys, student access card and cellphone from her. He allegedly left with her belongings before police arrived. She told police the two had been dating for three years.
Police determined he used her access card eight times to get through two doors at the complex, gaining access to the clubhouse. He was found inside the clubhouse about 9:30 a.m. Thursday after police were called.
Police said Pacley is not a student at California University of Pennsylvania but had been staying at the student housing complex at Vulcan Village for two and a half months. He also is wanted on warrants on charges filed in other jurisdictions.
Pacley was placed in Washington County jail on $15,000 bond. He is scheduled for a March 27 preliminary hearing before Kanalis.
