Jameson Taillon allowed one run and two hits in four innings, and David Freese hit RBI double as the Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the Baltimore Orioles 6-5 Wednesday in Bradenton, Fla.

Baltimore’s Ubaldo Jimenez gave up three runs and two hits in 4 2/3 innings.

Phil Gosselin hit an opposite-field grand slam in the fifth inning, leading the Pirates’ offense.

Baltimore took a 1-0 lead on a Chris Davis RBI groundout, but Pittsburgh evened things up in the third when Adam Frazier walked and scored on Jose Osuna’s sacrifice fly. Freese’s RBI double to left put the Bucs ahead in the fifth inning, and Gosselin’s grand slam extended their lead.

Reliever Antonio Bastardo picked up after Taillon, striking out three over two hitless innings.
