Police Beat March 10
Harassment: Eight to 10 people reportedly harassed victims at a house on North Sunset Beach Road on three nights in a row, shining flashlights in the windows and knocking on the outside walls. State police didn’t specify the dates the harassment took place.
Drug charges: Greta Caliz, 21, of Pittsburgh, was charged Wednesday by Canonsburg police with possession of heroin and paraphernalia and tampering with evidence stemming from an August 2016 traffic stop in the 500 block of West Pike Street. Police said she had the drugs hidden in a body cavity. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
Receiving charge: Anthony Cheverine, 34, of 608 S. Central Ave., Canonsburg, was charged by Canonsburg police with receiving stolen property after he allegedly sold jewelry stolen from a home on Park Avenue at a pawn shop last July. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
Charge filed: James Samuel Post, 43, of 1886 Route 2023, Monongahela, was charged Thursday by Carroll police with terroristic threats after he allegedly threatened to kill his former girlfriend during a child custody exchange at his home Monday. Police obtained a warrant for his arrest from District Judge Mark Wilson.
Stepfather charged: Samuel E. Higgins, 46, of 305 Ross St., Chartiers, was charged this week by township police with simple assault and harassment for allegedly assaulting his 11-year-old stepson March 2. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
Driver charged: Marie Antoinette Prince, 53, of Pittsburgh, was charged Wednesday by North Strabane police with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and paraphernalia stemming from a July 17 crash off Racetrack Road. Police said she had methadone and oxycodone in her system. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Marijuana, paraphernalia charges: Clentai A. Wilcox, 33, of East McKeesport, was charged Wednesday by North Strabane police with possession of marijuana and paraphernalia after he was stopped in a garage at The Meadows Casino for driving erratically. He also was charged with a traffic violation. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Car owner cited: Golan Barak, 49, of Pittsburgh, was charged this week by North Strabane police with having altered or forged plates and improper use of license plates after his vehicle was stopped March 2 at the intersection of Weavertown and Washington roads. The driver told police that the vehicle was owned by his boss and he did not know there was a problem with the license plate. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Drug charges: Dylan James Cullum, 21, of 116 Lintel Drive, McMurray, was charged Wednesday by North Strabane police with driving under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance and paraphernalia stemming from a Jan. 23 traffic stop on Racetrack Road near Quail Lane. Police said he had medication not prescribed to him in the vehicle. He allegedly had marijuana and Alprazolam in his system.
Theft report: James R. Nunamker, 53, of 495 Springdale Road, Eighty Four, was charged Wednesday by North Strabane police with writing bad checks after he allegedly wrote a check to a business, causing a $4,080.85 loss to Chrome Credit Union, 480 Johnson Road. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Money stolen: Adam R. Thomas, 30, of 146 McGovern Road, Houston, was charged by North Strabane police with theft and receiving stolen property for allegedly stealing $2,188 while working at SNPJ, 269 Latimer Ave., Strabane, earlier this year. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Altered plates: Robert Lee Amon, 38, of 6 Atlantic Drive, Washington, was charged last week by North Strabane police with having a forged or altered plate and not having insurance or registration stemming from a Jan. 18 traffic stop on Weavertown Road. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Assault charges: Police filed a criminal complaint March 2 with District Justice James Ellis charging William Jones, 19, with aggravated assault and simple assault. The complaint states that police were called at 8:13 p.m. Jan. 26 to 112 Braun Drive for the report of a young man in the house with a knife. Jones brandished a seven-inch butter knife he had gotten from the kitchen and “began chasing one of the aides,” causing an injury to the aide’s arm before he escaped out the front door, according to the complaint.
