Area man faces 265 counts of child porn
A Donegal Township man was arraigned Thursday before District Judge Ethan Ward on 265 counts of child pornography filed by township police after images of children engaging in sex acts allegedly were found on his computer.
Gaylord Dorsey, 65, of 66 Interstate Drive, turned himself in to police Thursday.
Police began the investigation March 7 after receiving a referral from Washington County Children and Youth Services, which had received a report Dorsey had child pornography on his computer.
Police said they learned during their investigation Dorsey had been seen looking at what appeared to be child pornography.
On March 31, police served a search warrant at Dorsey’s home. A laptop computer was found and submitted to a state police computer crime analyst for retrieval of any evidence. The analyst retrieved 265 photographs and depictions of children under the age of 18, partially nude or nude and performing various sex acts, police said.
Dorsey was released on $100,000 unsecured bond. He faces a May 23 preliminary hearing before Ward.
