Police Beat April 4
Trespass, drunkenness charges: Robyn Pierce Lancaster, 21, of Uniontown, was charged by California police with criminal trespass and public drunkenness after he allegedly tried to get back into McMonagles, Union Street, early Wednesday after being told to leave because he was harassing female patrons. Police said he then went to a nearby convenience store, where he also allegedly was harassing patrons.
Vehicle rolls: Megan Patragas, 32, of 255 N. Jefferson Ave., Canonsburg, and her passenger, Gabrielea Balsamo, 36, of 121 Woodcrest Drive, Canonsburg, refused treatment after the vehicle Patragas was driving failed to negotiate a bend on Crosby Drive about 6:30 p.m. Saturday and rolled over, Canonsburg police said. The investigation into the crash is continuing.
Trespasser reported: A 95-year-old woman told state police a person entered the sunroom of her Smiley Road home Sunday and opened the attic access panel, then left. Police are investigating.
Drug arrest: Sompong Keomanee, 30, of 124 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, was arrested early Monday by Charleroi Regional police on charges of possession and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness after he allegedly was found with Xanax not prescribed to him while police were investigating an altercation that occurred the previous night. He was arraigned before District Judge Gary Havelka and placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.
Gun case: Paul Labryer Sr., 42, of 404 Lookout Ave., Charleroi, is charged by Charleroi Regional police with receiving stolen property and the illegal sale of a stolen handgun about 2:40 a.m. March 6 at 1003 Upper Crest Ave., court records show. District Judge Larry Hopkins signed a warrant Friday for Labryer’s arrest.
Club cited: The operators of Arden Athletic Club, 25 Seik Road, Chartiers, were cited Monday by the state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement for allegedly allowing gambling Feb. 5.
Driver charged: Nicco Matthew Derrick, 22, of 37 Munntown Road, Eighty Four, was arrested Saturday morning by Monongahela police on charges of aggravated assault, fleeing or attempting to elude police, reckless endangerment, driving under the influence of alcohol and reckless driving after a crash on Route 88 in which a city police cruiser was hit. He was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller and released from Washington County jail after posting $5,000 bond.
Man injured: Jordan Scott Welsh, 26, of 115 Parcel St., Washington, was injured Wednesday when he apparently fell 15 feet off a bridge on Brush Run Road, Independence. Welsh was flown to UPMC-Presbyterian hospital for treatment.
Burglary, trespass charges: Douglas Edward Rowan, 41, of 454 Ohio Ave., Midland, was charged last week by McDonald police with burglary, criminal trespass and theft for allegedly breaking into a home at 113 Liberty St. last May and stealing a pistol and television. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Traci McDonald.
Warrant arrest: Renee Lynn Hertzler, 34, of 209 E. Lincoln Ave., McDonald, was taken into custody Saturday by McDonald police on a bench warrant after police were called to her home when a man in the residence reportedly overdosed. She was placed in Washington County jail on the warrant.
Resisting, drug charges: Angela Louise Dixon of 2395 Belmont Ave., Washington, was arrested early Saturday by Mt. Pleasant police on charges of resisting arrest, possession of crack and Suboxone and possession of paraphernalia stemming from an incident at an apartment at 82 Main St., Hickory. She was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller and placed in Washington County jail on $10,000 bond.
Man jailed: Keith Michael Davis, 25, of 601 McKean Ave., Charleroi, is charged by borough police with aggravated assault, simple assault, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, criminal mischief and public drunkenness, court records show. He is accused of attempting to injure an officer’s head and spitting on him and also kicking an officer after police were summoned to investigate claims that Davis had repeatedly struck Donald M. Davis Jr. in the head shortly after 3 a.m. Friday in the 500 block of Broad Avenue. He also is accused of punching his fist through the window of a business. District Judge Charles Christner sent Keith Davis to Westmoreland County jail on $25,000 bond.
Assault alleged: Ron Avance Sr., 51, of 531 Highland Ave., North Charleroi, is charged by Charleroi Regional police with aggravated assault, simple assault and strangulation, court records show. Police accuse Avance of raising a 10-inch kitchen knife at Diana Zeller and also putting pressure on her throat with his hand about 8:35 p.m. Thursday in his residence. District Judge Larry Hopkins signed a warrant Friday for Avance’s arrest.
Marijuana charge: State police said Baleigh A. Smalley, 19, of 198 Rural Road, Washington, was in possession of marijuana during a traffic stop March 2 at the intersection of South Main and Elm streets. Charges of possession of a small amount of marijuana and disorderly conduct will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Harassment charge: Melissa M. Frameli, 36, of 57 Pine St., Clarksville, was charged last week by North Strabane police with harassment and unlawful use of a computer for allegedly accessing her former boyfriend’s Facebook page and locking him out of it. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Fleeing, endangerment charges: Michael Allen, 50, of 825 Fayette St., Washington, was charged last week by North Strabane police with fleeing or attempting to elude police, reckless endangerment and reckless driving after police say he nearly struck a cruiser during a Jan. 14 traffic stop on Latimer Avenue in Strabane. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Two injured: Conrad Pearson, 18, of 991 Linden Road, Eighty Four, and his passenger, Luke M. Pearson, 15, also of 991 Linden, were injured in a one-vehicle crash in the 700 block of Linden Friday morning. Police said Conrad Pearson was driving south when his vehicle crossed the road and hit an embankment and a fence. Both were taken to Canonsburg Hospital.
Assault: A Bentleyville man was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and disorderly conduct in connection with an April 1 incident at Dairy Queen, 102 McDowell Lane. According to police, a man reported that he had been attacked with a tire iron and injured. Police said obtained a warrant for Gary Lee Fine Jr., 25, and arrested him the following day. He was transported to Washington County jail and held on $30,000 bond.
Furnishing alcohol: Nickolas Pruss, 22, of Carnegie faces a charge of furnishing alcohol to a minor following an April 1 incident involving a 17-year-old girl. According to police, Pruss bought a bottle of alcohol, and the girl consumed some of it at their place of employment, Italian Village Pizza, 3905 Washington Road.
Charge filed: John James Gremas, 38, of 432 Oakland Ave., Charleroi, is charged by state police with access device fraud over accusations he used his employer’s credit card at T-Rock Construction, 525 Chester Ave., to purchase $158 worth of gasoline for his personal vehicle between March 16 and 21, court records show. District Judge Larry Hopkins issued the case in a summons Friday.
Trespass, threats charges: Duane Lee Conklin, 36, of 2765 W. Chestnut St., Washington, was arrested early Monday by Washington police on charges of criminal trespass, terroristic threats and burglary after he allegedly entered a woman’s home on Maple Avenue and threatened her. He was arraigned before District Judge Gary Havelka and released from Washington County jail after posting $5,000 bond.
Woman robbed: Adrienne Pettit of Washington told Washington police that three men robbed her of her Dooney and Bourke purse as she walked near the intersection of West Maiden Street and Jefferson Avenue early Monday. The purse was later found minus two debit cards.
House entered: David Urbanik of Washington told Washington police Sunday that a door and water lines were damaged at his rental property at 662 ½ Jefferson Ave.
False reports charge: Stephanie Victor, 24, of 225 S. College St., Washington, will be charged by Washington police with making false reports after she allegedly told police last month that she was assaulted by a man who also tried to rape her. Police said they learned she actually had been assaulted behind a Jefferson Avenue fast food restaurant. Charges against the man she accused, Richard E. Kerns, 65, of Washington, have been withdrawn.
Information used: Bill Schumacker of Washington told Washington police Saturday his information was used to purchase a snowboard through Paypal. Police said the item was supposed to be delivered to a Mercersburg address.
Woman charged: Monica Hoberek, 36, who told police she is homeless but also gave them a Jefferson Avenue address, was charged by Washington police with having an open container of alcohol and criminal trespass after police say she was found asleep Friday in a home in the 500 block of Jefferson Avenue.
Inmate charged: Kristen H. Brown, 25, of 31 Washington St., Cokeburg, was taken to an area hospital for treatment after Washington County Jail guards allegedly found she had hidden suboxone in a body cavity upon intake at the jail March 27. Charges of possession of a controlled substance by an inmate, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Parole violation alleged: Jason A. Carpenter, 24, of 25 Midland Drive, Washington, was placed in Washington County jail March 5 on a state parole violation. According to state police, Carpenter fled from a vehicle in which he was a passenger during a traffic stop at Jefferson and West Wylie avenues. He was later found by officers in the 900 block of Arch Street and allegedly was in possession of needles and a smoking device. Charges of flight to avoid apprehension and possession of drug paraphernalia will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
