Norman Gary Tournay, 67, of McDonald, died Wednesday, March 6, 2013, in the Center for Compassionate Care, Mt. Lebanon.

He was born July 14, 1945, in Cecil, a son of the late Norman Gregory and Louise Blanche Hartzel Tournay.

Mr. Tournay served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.

He retired from coal mining in 2008 and was a member of United Mine Workers of America.

Surviving are a daughter, Theresa L. (Patrick) Messner of McDonald; a son, Gregory L. (Maria) Tournay of Oakdale; five sisters, Norma Tournay Buck and Helen Tournay Weaver, both of McDonald, Joyce Tournay-Tucker of The Villages, Fla., Bonnie Tournay Anderson of Washington and Denise Tournay Pfeiffer of Bloomington, Ill.; four brothers, Donald Tournay of Midway, Howard Tournay of Weirton, W.Va., Edward Tournay of Monaca and Robert Tournay of Hagerstown, Md.; and four grandchildren, Ashley, Chelsea, Alessandra and Conner.

Deceased is a sister, Jean Tournay Mainwairing.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Nation Funeral Home Inc., 220 East Lincoln Avenue, McDonald, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 9, with the Rev. John Goebel officiating. Burial will follow in Robinson Run Cemetery, McDonald. The family suggests memorials be made to Family Hospice & Palliative Care, Center for Compassionate Care, 50 Moffett Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15243.
