John A. Coole Jr.
John A. “Charlie” Coole Jr., 83, of Houston, died Sunday, April 14, 2013, after a short illness in Canonsburg General Hospital.
He was born June 30, 1929, in Ohio, a son of the late John A. and Elizabeth Toth Coole.
Mr. Coole worked for the former McGraw-Edison and Cooper Power Systems for 34 years, retiring in 1990.
He had served in the Army during World War II.
Mr. Coole was a member of American Legion Post 902 in Houston, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 191 in Canonsburg, SNPJ of Strabane, Canonsburg Sportsman’s Club and Palanka Sportsman’s Club.
On August 14, 1964, he married Geraldine Hall, who passed away May 20, 1990.
He will be sadly missed by family and friends.
Surviving are three children, Charles A. Coole, Beth Ann Ayres (Scott) and Jack Coole (Tami), all of Houston and five grandsons, Edward Bush, Johnathan Ayres and Reiss, Riley and Rory Coole.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, owner/supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 18. Interment will follow in Oak Spring Cemetery, Chartiers Township. Full military rites will be accorded by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 191 of Canonsburg and American Legion Post 902 of Houston, combined honor guard.
