Wallace “Skip” and Lynda Pyle Smith of Jefferson will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, August 27, at the Jefferson Community Center.

The couple were married September 2, 1967, at Jefferson Methodist Church by S. Miles McConnell.

They have one daughter, Dr. Tracy Smith-Covarrubias (Dr. Enrique Covarrubias) of Austin, Texas.

Mr. Smith is retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, and Mrs. Smith is retired from United Airlines and the CARE Center in Waynesburg.

To celebrate their anniversary, the couple will be taking an Alaskan cruise.
