Police Beat Sept. 8
DUI charge: Larry Joseph Pollack Sr., 59, of Elco, will be charged by California police with driving under the influence of alcohol after he allegedly drove his vehicle on the railroad tracks between Wood and Liberty streets in the early morning hours of Aug. 18. Police said his blood-alcohol content was almost four times the 0.08 percent limit at which intoxication is presumed. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Joshua Kanalis.
Dog violations: Dale Josson, 21, of 215 Crest Ave., Charleroi, is charged by the state dog warden with failure to register a dangerous dog, failure to implant a microchip in the animal, failure to provide proof of spaying and failure to purchase liability insurance for the pet, court records show. Josson also failed to notify the state he complied with those issues after he was found guilty Feb. 15 by District Judge Larry Hopkins of harboring a dangerous pit bull mix named Chloe. Hopkins issued the new charges via summons Wednesday.
Cellphones stolen: Jim Urban of Chartiers and Sandy Kehn of Houston told Chartiers police Monday their cellphones were stolen while they were at Arnold Park Pavilion.
Man jailed: Daryl Harry Brown, 32, of 1005 Graham Ave., Monessen, is charged by city police with indecent assault, simple assault and harassment over allegations he punched a woman and caused her to fall down stairs after she refused his sexual advances about 11:50 p.m. Sept. 4 in his residence, court records show. Brown is in Westmoreland County jail on $15,000 bond set by District Judge Joseph Dalfonso.
Robbery alleged: Brian J. Veazey, 32, of 32 Mathews Road, Rostraver Township, and Andre Monzeal Gomez, 38, of Philadelphia are each charged by city police with robbery, disorderly conduct and harassment, court records show. Both suspects are accused of stealing a backpack containing several items, including medication, from Randy West about 11 a.m. Aug. 15. District Judge Joseph Dalfonso signed a warrant last week for Veazey’s arrest. Dalfonso sent Gomez to Westmoreland County jail Thursday on $20,000 bond.
Charged in crash: Thomas Ingram II, 61, of 89 Sammy Angott Way, Washington, was charged Wednesday by North Franklin police with leaving the scene of a crash and careless driving after he allegedly crashed into an oncoming vehicle Aug. 26 in the 10 block of McElree Road, North Franklin police said. The occupants of the other vehicle, a mother and her young daughter, were treated at the scene. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Theft charge: Ivan Edward Sadler, 54, of Washington, was charged Wednesday by Washington police with theft after he allegedly stole a purse containing a cellphone, checkbook and credit cards from an employee at Foodland, 875 Henderson Ave., July 6. The charge was filed at the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Tire damaged: Helen Baker of South Franklin Township told Washington police Wednesday two lug nuts were broken and three loosened on her car while it was parked in the lot at Dollar General, 710 Jefferson Ave.
Card stolen: Monet Wilson of 155 Springfield Ave. told Washington police Wednesday her Access card was stolen the previous day while she was at the Sunlight Club on East Maiden Street.
Money stolen: Stephanie Henderson of 109 W. Walnut St. told Washington police Wednesday $400 was stolen from her Direct Express account after her SSI payment was deposited earlier this month.
Ladder, ramp stolen: Robert Adams of Canton Township told Washington police Wednesday an aluminum ladder and ramp were stolen from a garage on rental property he owns in the 500 block of Maple Avenue.
Account accessed: Matthew Basile of 111 High St. told Washington police Wednesday three withdrawals totaling $1,006 were made from his bank account earlier this month.
