Frank Jules Masquelier Jr., 83, of McDonald, died Friday, April 26, 2013, in Broadmore Assisted Living of Bridgeville.

He was born September 14, 1929, in McDonald, a son of the late Frank Jules Sr. and Esther Jiannino Masquelier.

Mr. Masquelier was a 1948 graduate of McDonald High School. He began working for the former Poskin Bus Line in McDonald in 1950. In 1964, he started driving for Port Authority Transit of Allegheny County and was the driver for the 33F McDonald line before he retired in 1990.

During his lifetime, he was a survivor of childhood polio, mentored under the McDonald High School art teacher, Elbert Davis, and enjoyed music. He was an automobile enthusiast and also enjoyed collecting die-cast cars.

He was a member of Amalgamated Transit Union and Iron’s Memorial Presbyterian Church and a volunteer for McDonald Food Bank.

On December 18, 1953, he married Martha “Marty” Moore, who died October 5, 2011.

Surviving are two sons, Russell W. Masquelier of Burgettstown and Dale R. (Janene) Masquelier of McDonald; a daughter, Jill M. (George) Bordo of Coraopolis; two brothers, Robert (Esther) Masquelier of Milford, N.H., and Wayne (Pat) Masquelier of North Fort Myers, Fla.; two sisters, Shirley (the late Richard) Roberts of Erie and Donna (Rob) Bennett of Midway; and seven grandchildren, Neil, Cydnee, Kaitlyn and Travis Masquelier and Braden, Jarrett and Cassidy Bordo.

Deceased is a son, James Gregory Masquelier.

Friends will be received from noon to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Nation Funeral Home Inc., 220 East Lincoln Avenue, McDonald, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 29. Burial will follow in Raccoon Cemetery, Bulger. The family suggests memorials to McDonald Food Bank, McDonald Borough Building, 151 School Street, McDonald, or Heritage Public Library, 54 Fourth Street, McDonald, PA 15057.
