The commissioners will seek bids to replace VanVoorhis bridge, designated Pigeon Creek No. 3 in Carroll Township later this year with a prefabricated structure. Costs will be paid with Act 13 natural gas impact fees that have been previously allocated.
At the request of the Public Safety Department, the commissioners approved the use of a $161,879 Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency grant through Sept. 30 to partially reimburse salaries and benefits for four members of the public safety staff.
At the request of the Human Resources Department, the board renewed a $180 per hour agreement with attorney Carl Smith to provide legal services for workers’ compensation claims filed against the county. The previous rate, approved in late 2015, had been $175.
The commissioners approved revised guidelines and purchasing policies for suppliers to Washington County which increases bid limit thresholds to $20,100 from $18,500 and written quotes to $10,900 from the previous $10,000 with an annual adjustment for inflation.
On behalf of the sheriff’s department, the board approved the purchase of two 2018 Ford Interceptor utility vehicles at a total cost of $77,188, replacing two vehicles that will auctioned.
The board approved payment of a $486 invoice from West Penn Power to extend electrical service across Route 844 to the Range Resources trailhead in Cross Creek park, including to a new restroom. Costs will e paid with Cross Creek natural gas lease funds
