Monessen man ordered to trial in homicide attempt
A Monessen man was ordered Friday to stand trial in Westmoreland County Court in an attempted homicide last year in his hometown.
District Judge Joseph Dalfonso ordered Rashawn T. Ford, 22, to court during a preliminary hearing in the case, online court records show.
Ford was charged with conspiring with Joseph “Jo Jo” Heath, 28, also of Monessen, to kill Timothy “Boo” Kershaw in a June 25 dispute over a woman.
Heath allegedly shot Kershaw, 31, also of Monessen, in the right thigh with a .40-caliber handgun about 3 a.m. on Summit Avenue.
Heath was awaiting trial in Westmoreland County Court on a string of charges, including attempted homicide. He is free on $30,000 bond.
Ford was arrested on a warrant Jan. 8. He is in Westmoreland County jail on $250,000 bond set by District Judge Charles D. Moore.
