PHILIPSBURG (AP) – The coroner says a former state trooper shot his estranged wife twice in the chest before turning the shotgun on himself last week inside the supermarket where she worked.

Clearfield County Coroner Mike Morris said Tuesday that after an examination last weekend, he ruled death of Traci Miscavish was a case of homicide.

Autopsies weren’t performed on Miscavish or her husband, Mark Miscavish. Toxicology tests are being performed.

Morris said the same 12-gauge shotgun was used in both deaths. He says Mark Miscavish shot himself once in the head.

The killing at the County Market in Philipsburg Thursday occurred days after she filed for divorce.

Her funeral is Wednesday at Messiah Baptist Church in Kylertown. Beezer-Heath Funeral Home is using her maiden name, Traci Raymond.
