BENTLEYVILLE
Drug case: Michael Allen Shumar, 33, of 202 Russi Ave., Bentleyville, is charged by the Washington County drug task force with drug possession with intent to deliver, drug possession, criminal use of a cellphone and possession of drug paraphernalia, court records show. Investigators accuse him of selling an unspecified amount of heroin to a confidential informant Sept. 20 at a location that is not revealed in court records. District Judge Curtis Thompson signed a warrant Wednesday for Shumar’s arrest.
CALIFORNIA
Two charged: Stacy A. Nicholas, 31, of Washington, and Robert Allan Westfall, 33, of Burgettstown, were charged by California police Monday in a Jan. 2 traffic stop on Route 40 at the Knob Hill overpass. Nicholas is charged with false identification to police, possession of paraphernalia and disorderly conduct. Westfall is charged with false reports, driving with a suspended license and speeding.
CANONSBURG
Card accessed: Richard Burnett of Canonsburg told police that a $1,000 Best Buy gift card he received as part of a promotion after purchasing a training program had been accessed. He told police he checked the card and found there was a zero balance.
CHARTIERS
Vehicle rolls: Christina Stivers, 34, and her passenger, Chaz Crews, 27, both of 1020 Sugar Run Road, Avella, refused treatment when her vehicle rolled over Wednesday night at the intersection of Hickory Ridge and Ullom roads, Chartiers police said.
Money stolen: Kimberly Hupp of Washington told Chartiers police Tuesday that $143 was withdrawn from her bank account by a thief who used an automated teller machine on East Pike Street.
CLAYSVILLE
Hindering apprehension charge: Jerome Scott Underwood, 67, of 211 Main St., Claysville, was arraigned Thursday before District Judge Ethan Ward on a charge of hindering apprehension after he allegedly concealed the whereabouts of Diane Kuri, 29, on Jan. 3. Kuri, who was wanted on a warrant in Belmont County, Ohio, was spotted in Underwood’s house with him, Donegal police said. Police found her hiding in a closet. She allegedly told police that Underwood told her to hide. Underwood was released from Washington County Jail after posting $10,000 bond.
MONESSEN
Drug case: Cain Joseph Tomcanin, 23, of 431 McKean Ave., Charleroi, is charged by Monessen police with drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia, court records show. Police accuse him of having five stamp bags of heroin during a Jan. 5 traffic stop in the 100 block of Pennsylvania Avenue. District Judge Joseph Dalfonso issued the charges Tuesday by summons.
SOUTH FRANKLIN
Charged in crash: Shane Thomas Noel, 29, of 325 King Air Circle, South Franklin, was charged Wednesday by state police with driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to stay in his lane, driving on the wrong side of the road, reckless driving and other violations after a one-vehicle crash Dec. 23 on S Bridge Road near Old Scales Road, South Franklin. Police said his blood-alcohol content was almost double the 0.08 percent limit at which intoxication is presumed. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Ethan Ward.
SOUTH STRABANE
Driver charged: Lachae P. Wilson, 24, of 62 Marion Villa, Belle Vernon, was charged this week by South Strabane police with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, reckless driving and driving without a license. Wilson allegedly crashed into a house at 281 Humbert Lane on Christmas Day, then fled. Police said they followed her footprints in the snow, and she was found at Washington Hospital. Police said she was under the influence of cocaine. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Restaurant cited: Ohio Valley Bistro Inc., operators of TGI Fridays, Strabane Square, was cited last week by the state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement for failing to notify the board of a change of manager. The offense allegedly happened from June 18 through Sept. 30.
WASHINGTON
Mischief charge: Robert L. Gatling Jr., 67, of 437 E. Hallam Ave., Washington, was charged by Washington police with criminal mischief after he allegedly cut a screen on a window at a Maple Terrace home.
WEST BROWNSVILLE
Two charged: Cameron Joseph Caudill, 19, and Kenneth Charles Poole Jr., 19, both of 107 Knox Ave., Brownsville, were arrested Wednesday by state police on charges of burglary, criminal trespass, theft and receiving stolen property. They are accused of breaking into a home at 35 Old National Pike, West Brownsville, and stealing two cellphones and an Invicta watch. They were arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger and placed in Washington County Jail on $50,000 bonds.
Club cited: The officers of the Legion Club of West Brownsville, 800 Middle St., were cited Dec. 29 by the state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement for failing to keep records on the licensed premises from Jan. 10 through Nov. 4, as required under the state liquor code.
