Burglary: William Prowitt, 43, of Avella, was charged by state police with burglary, criminal trespass and criminal mischief Friday night after he allegedly broke into a residence in the 400 block of Buena Vista Street. Police said Prowitt broke a window to enter the residence just after 11 p.m. When the residents returned to their home, they recognized him and told him to leave, police said. Prowitt was arraigned Saturday afternoon by District Judge Robert Redlinger and was jailed on $20,000 bond.
