Paul Nathaniel “Nate” Morris, 68, of Canonsburg, passed away Thursday, March 8, 2018, in Washington Hospital, with his wife by his side.
He was born October 31, 1949, in Centre County, a beloved son of the late Mary Lewis and Roosevelt Morris.
Mr. Morris was the adored husband of Helen Navrotski; doting father of Paul Morris Jr.; cherished brother of Mary Lousie Crump (Lou) of Greensburg, Deborah Winslow of Canonsburg, Sherri (Dennis) Matthews of Canonsburg, Judith Alicia Morris of Canonsburg, Patty Bray (Sherman) of Pittsburgh and Barb Deshazo; loving brother of Ronald “Bro” (Margaret) Morris of Carnegie, George Deshazo of San Diego, Calif., and Tim Morris of Washington; dear son-in-law of Richard and Lucile Slater of Canonsburg; and loving brother-in-law of Ricki Sifinski of Florida, Connie and David Gall of Canonsburg and Ted and Lucinda Sworcheck of Canonsburg. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
Deceased are five siblings, Catherine Bulter, Jessie Deshazo, David Morris, Richard Morris and James “Butch” Deshazo.
Mr. Morris was known as an all-star athlete in high school. He played football, participated in wrestling and ran on the track team.
He retired from his career as a longwaller at Consolidated Coal Co. after 23 years of dedicated service.
Mr. Morris never turned down a football wager during games with friends. He enjoyed spending his free time shooting craps and watching horse races at The Meadows Racetrack & Casino. He enjoyed exercising and listening to music. He was a fan of sweets and loved ice cream. Most of all, he enjoyed his quiet time at home, sitting on the deck with his wife and best friend of 23 years.
Arrangements are entrusted to Cremation & Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Road, McMurray, PA 15317, 724-260-5546. A celebration of Mr. Morris’ life will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 25, in The Meadows Track Chapel, 210 Racetrack Road, Washington, PA 15301.
