Richard D. Bandi, 59, of McMurray, died unexpectedly Saturday, March 10, 2018, in his home, of natural causes.

He was born July 5, 1958, in Pittsburgh, a son of Richard J. and Joan Liston Bandi.

Mr. Bandi was a 1976 graduate of Chartiers-Houston High School and studied welding at Washington Institute of Technology.

He was a self-employed handyman and construction worker.

Mr. Bandi was a member of French Club in Canonsburg, where he had served as an officer.

He was a history buff and enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews.

Surviving are two brothers, Charles Bandi (Melina) of Venetia and Joseph Bandi (Debbie) of Imperial; two sisters, Rose DiNardo (Doug) of Washington and Laura Rodgers (Duane) of Sharpsburg, Ga.; his companion of 20 years, Diane Cushman; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, owner/supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 15, in Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, Meadow Lands, with the Rev. Carmen D’Amico as celebrant. Interment will be private.
