Sally Lou Sicchitano Yardis
Sally Lou Sicchitano Yardis, 75, of Bentleyville, died Tuesday, November 20, 2012, in Donnell House, Washington, after a valiant fight with cancer, which she handled with strength and grace.
She was born March 11, 1937, in New Eagle, a daughter of the late Tony “Sinso” and Violet Cristina Sicchitano.
Mrs. Yardis was a 1955 graduate of Bentleyville High School and a graduate of Penn Commercial Business School.
She was a longtime member of St. Mary’s Church, Charleroi, and volunteered for Greater Washington County Food Bank.
Mrs. Yardis enjoyed cooking, Notre Dame football, sports and spending time with her friends.
Surviving are daughter Cammi Yorke and husband Edward of Canonsburg; two granddaughters, Cristina and Jessica Yorke; sister Dolly Davis and husband Jim of Bentleyville; and many nieces and nephews with whom she was very close.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, are her husband, Andrew “Ted” Yardis, who died May 13, 2004, and son Chris Yardis.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to noon, the hour of service, Saturday, November 24, in Greenlee Funeral Home, 619 Main Street, Bentleyville, with the Rev. Robert Hanna officiating. Interment will be private in Beallsville Cemetery.
