Wilda Lynn Morgan Ripley, 89, of Wellsburg, W.Va., passed away at 5:55 a.m. Palm Sunday, March 25, 2018, in Peterson Rehabilitation and Geriatric Center, Wheeling, W.Va.
She was born April 14, 1928, in West Liberty, W.Va., a daughter of the late Joseph and Della Duvall Morgan.
Mrs. Ripley was a member of West Liberty Federated Church, Farm Bureau and Southern States Women Committee. Many will remember her for being a dairy farmer and poll worker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, H. Eugene Ripley; a daughter, Dr. Linda S. Ripley; and a sister, Helen Mitchell.
She is survived by four children, Marla Sewell of Glen Burnie, Md., John (Sherrill) Ripley of Wellsburg, Donna Posont of Dearborn, Mich., and Debra (Roy) Riggle of Valley Grove, W.Va; a daughter-in-law, Paige Kovach of Poolesville, Md.; 13 grandchildren, Bart, Amber and Nick Ripley, Renay Burger, Emily and Chad Riggle, Katie Tonarely, Ruthanne Bruck, Peter, Paul and Betsy Posont and Zach and Mackenzie Kovach; 14 great-grandchildren, Hunter, Garrett and Brock Ripley, Ashlyn McDougan, Lexi, Caron and Kaylee Ripley, Noam Burger, Atticus, August and Sebastian Tonarely, Marley Posont and Kendall and Colton Fuller; and two nieces, Teresa Meneely and Beth Wawrzeniak.
Family and friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and noon to 1 p.m., the time of services, Tuesday, March 27, in West Liberty Federated Church, 147 Sterling Street, West Liberty, W.Va., with the Rev. Debra Dague officiating, assisted by Bonnie Gilbert. Interment will follow in West Alexander Cemetery, West Alexander.
