Dorothy Zanolli Dickey Hughes
Dorothy Zanolli Dickey Hughes, 91, of Chambersburg, formerly of Fredericktown and Jefferson, passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2018, in Providence Place, Chambersburg.
She was born July 5, 1926, in Fredericktown, a daughter of the late Fortunato “Nato” Zanolli Sr. and Anna Dalla Santa Zanolli.
She was a graduate of East Bethlehem High School and Penn Commercial. She worked as an accountant for the Chevrolet dealership in Fredericktown for 30 years.
Her first husband, Edwin N. Dickey Jr., is deceased. Her son, Edwin N. Dickey III passed away April 19, 1979. Also deceased are two brothers, Stelvio “Steve” Zanolli and Lou Zanolli.
On May 23, 1987, she married Lewis D. Hughes, who survives.
For several years, Mr. and Mrs. Hughes resided in Jefferson, where she was a member of Jefferson United Methodist Church and Jefferson Legion Auxiliary.
She enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting and visiting with family and friends.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a brother, Fortunato “Pat” Zanolli Jr. (Dolores) of Masury, Ohio; a stepdaughter, Sandra Haney (Keith) of Fayetteville; two stepgrandchildren, Lee Haney (Brandee) of Severna Park, Md., and Craig Haney (Tiffany) Strongsville, Ohio; three stepgreat-grandchildren, Campbell, Darson and Brennan Haney; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 27, with Pastor Richard Bowser officiating, followed by interment in Fredericktown Cemetery.
