Agency presents programs for older adults
“Community and Home-Based Services for Older Adults,” presented by SWPA Area Agency on Aging, will be held at 6:45 p.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church, North Belle Vernon. It will be preceded by a covered dish dinner at 6. The presentation will discuss services that are available for adults 60 years of age or older, including community support and services such as senior community centers, elderly nutrition program, health insurance counseling (APPRISE), health and wellness community education and wellness programs, special events and activities and ombudsman. There will be an overview of in-home support and services, including comprehensive needs assessment, caregiver support program, OPTIONS care management, nursing home transition, domiciliary care, adult day care programs, adult protective and legal services for elderly residents.
