Firefighters respond to a blaze that damaged a home on Country Club Road, Carroll Township, Sunday.

A fire that likely spread from a fireplace heavily damaged a house Sunday in Carroll Township, local police said.

Harry and Vicki Marchewka were in their home in the 1200 block of Country Club Road when the fire broke out about 8 p.m., police said.

No one was injured in the fire, which spread quickly, drawing firefighters from at least four neighboring municipalities, including Monongahela, New Eagle and Donora, police said.

A state police fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire, which did not appear to be suspicious, Carroll police said.
